Seamless steel pipe (also seamless steel tube) is a round, square or rectangle tubing material which is hollow with no seams. A steel ingot or solid tube blank is perforated and then made into the finished tube through hot rolling, cold rolling or cold drawing processes. The pipe is then finished to required dimensions (Its size ranges from 1/8 inch to 26 inch OD). The hollow cross section of this product is used to transport fluid. Compared with round steel and other solid steels, when torsional strength is same, steel tube is more lightweight. It is an economical steel product. Seamless steel pipe is widely used in manufacturing structural parts and machine parts, such as oil drill pipe, transmission shaft of motor vehicle, bicycle frame and steel scaffold used in construction work. Our seamless steel tubes have passed ASTM A106 certification. Our products in this are categorized by use (construction, conveying fluid, oil pipe coupling, line pipe, hydraulic prop, ship, geological drilling, etc.).
Manufacturing ProcessHot rolling (extruding seamless steel pipe): Round tube blank → Heating up → Perforating → oblique rolling, tandem rolling or extruding by three rollers → Detaching tube → Sizing (or reducing) → Cooling → Straightening → Hydrostatic test (or flaw detection) → Marking → Putting into storage.
Advantages1. Our seamless steel pipe has the characters of pure steel, uniform and steady composition, superior internal and external surfaces, high accurate geometric dimensions, uniform wall thickness, high tube straightness, superior mechanical property and processing property.
2. Seamless steel tube can be widely applied, for it can withstand more pressure better than other types of steel pipes. It is extremely versatile and is manufactured to meet various structural and pressure purposes.
Seamless steel pipe plays an important role in national economy. It is widely applied in petroleum, chemical industry, boiler, power station, ships, machine manufacturing, motor vehicle, aviation, aerospace, energy, geological, construction and military industry departments.
1. This product is used for transporting liquid in underground pipeline, extracting ground water when housing and delivering hot water from boilers.
2. Seamless steel pipe is also used in machining bearing bush, machine parts, etc.
3. It can be used in the pipelines which transmit gas, water and other liquid.
4. Seamless steel tube can also be used as anti-static tube in wind power plant.
The seamless steel pipes will undergo chemical component analysis and the tests on their mechanical properties (ultimate tensile strength, yield strength, elongation) and technical properties (flattening test, flaring test, bending test, hardness test, blow test, impact test etc) as well as exterior size inspection.
Technical Superiority
1. Cold-drawing technique.
Common manufacturing techniques of seamless steel pipe include cold-drawing and hot rolling. The cold-drawing production process is more complicated. Tube blanks are rolled by three rollers at first. The tube is then tested. If the surface of the tube has no crackles, it is then cut to about 1 m by cutting machine. In the following tempering process, the tube is washed with acid liquid. If large amount of bubbles emerge from its surface, the quality of the tube doesn’t reach relevant standard. Compared with hot rolled seamless steel pipe, the cold drawn one is shorter and its wall is thicker.
2. Hot rolling technique.
The hot rolled tube is heat treated before delivery. The seamless steel tube is tested and selected by workers strictly. After quality test, the tubes are painted. They are then tested for many times. If its diameter is oversize, the tube should be straightened. The tubes will undergo flaw detection and labeled at last.
1. Inferior seamless steel pipe easy to be scuffed. That might be caused by the crude equipment of the inferior factories. This would reduce the strength of the steel.
2. Inferior seamless steel tubes have no metallic luster. They are in light red or pig iron like color instead.
3. Transverse bars of inferior tube are thin. That might because the rolling reduction is too large in the steps before finishing the products.
4. The cross section of inferior seamless steel pipe is oval, for the factories set too large rolling reduction in order to save materials.
5. Superior products have uniform composition. Their end faces are smooth and neat.
6. Inferior products have more impurities and lower steel density. The dimensions exceed tolerance limit.
We accept 30% T/T advance payment or letter of credit.
The seamless steel pipes are packed in containers and are transported by sea.
